Welcome to OCIA at Saint Dominic Catholic Church

The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA), is the Catholic Church’s normative process for adults to explore, join, or complete their initiation into the Catholic faith.  It is a gradual journey of prayer, study, and discernment rather than a fixed academic course.

OCIA Serves Three Primary Groups:

• Catechumens: Individuals who have never been baptized and prepare for all three Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist). 

• Candidates: Baptized Christians from other traditions who seek full communion with the Catholic Church by receiving Confirmation and Eucharist. 

• Recovering Catholics: Baptized Catholics who were not catechized or confirmed and seek to complete their initiation. 

OCIA meetings are held via Zoom every Tuesday from 7:30pm - 8:30pm.
